What We Do / Sheet Metal Folding

Sheet Metal Folding

Formed with precision.

Consistent to the last part.

Precision sheet metal folding from our in-house UK facility. Formed to tight tolerances, as a standalone service, or flowing straight from our profile cutting into welding, finishing and assembly.

Our press brakes form parts for telecommunications, transport, defence, construction and infrastructure. Every fold is checked against the drawing, because a degree out at the brake is a part that doesn’t assemble.

How we work

Flat sheet to

finished products.

Send a drawing or a folded part model. Use us for folding alone, or as part of the complete build.

01
Develop the flat pattern Bend allowances, fold sequence and tolerances worked out from your drawing or part model - you don't need to supply them.
02
Program offline Fold sequences built from your CAD before the blank reaches the brake, so setup is fast and the first part is right.
03
Fold Formed on twin 4m Bystronic Xpert 150s, with every bend checked against the drawing in-process.
04
Into the build Formed parts flow into welding, coating and assembly — or ship as folded components, ready for yours.

Frequently asked questions

What thickness can you fold?

Our two Bystronic Xpert 150 press brakes fold sheet metal up to 25mm thick depending on material and tooling, across bend lengths up to 4100mm at 150 tonnes of press force. If your part sits outside those limits, talk to us – we can often advise an alternative approach.

Can you cut and fold parts as one package?

Yes – this is one of our most common workflows. Parts are cut on our 6kW Bystronic fibre laser and move straight to our Bystronic press brakes. One supplier, one system, one lead time.

How do you ensure folds are consistent across a batch?

Fold sequences are programmed offline from your CAD, and every bend is checked against the drawing in-process. The same program runs on the same machine for every part, so the last part in a batch matches the first – and with two identical 4m press brakes, large batches can run in parallel without variation.

Do I need to include bend allowances in my drawings?

No – send your folded part model or drawing and we’ll handle the flat pattern development, bend allowances and fold sequence. If you’d like design input before that stage, our in-house design team can help.

Do you offer folding as a standalone service?

Yes. Send your pre-cut blanks or have us cut and fold as a package. Parts can also continue into welding, powder coating and assembly, with full traceability throughout.
